Your online transaction on Modomu is secure with the highest levels of transaction security currently available on the Internet. Modomu uses 256-bit encryption technology to protect your card information while securely transmitting it to the respective banks for payment processing.
All credit card and debit card payments on Modomu are processed through secure and trusted payment gateways managed by leading banks. Banks now use the 3D Secure password service for online transactions, providing an additional layer of security through identity verification.
What steps does Modomu take to prevent card fraud?
Modomu realises the importance of a strong fraud detection and resolution capability. We, along with our online payments partners, monitor transactions continuously for suspicious activity and flag potentially fraudulent transactions for manual verification by our team.
In the rarest of the rare cases, when our team is unable to rule out the possibility of fraud categorically, the transaction is kept on hold, and the customer is requested to provide identity documents. The ID documents help us ensure that the purchases were indeed made by a genuine cardholder. We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused to customers and request them to bear with us in the larger interest of ensuring a safe and secure environment for online transactions.
What is a 3D Secure password?
The 3D Secure password is implemented by VISA and Mastercard in partnership with card-issuing banks under the "Verified by VISA" and “Mastercard Secure Code" services, respectively.
The 3D Secure password adds an additional layer of security through identity verification for your online credit/debit card transactions. This password, which is created by you, is known only to you. This ensures that only you can use your card for online purchases.

Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available on Modomu?
Currently, Modomu does not offer Cash on Delivery (COD) as a payment option.
Once COD is introduced, customers will be able to pay the order value at the time of delivery by selecting Cash on Delivery on the payment page. The FAQs below explain how COD will work when it becomes available.
How will the COD (Cash on Delivery) payment option work once introduced?
Modomu does not have a COD option right now, but once we have it as a mode, the Cash on Delivery option allows you to pay the order value at the time of delivery for all orders. To pay for any order using the Cash on Delivery (COD) mode of payment, please select the 'Cash On Delivery' option on the payment page.
Why can’t I see the COD option on my payment page?
Once COD is introduced, the availability of COD will depend on the ability of our courier partner, who is servicing your location, to accept cash as the payment mode at the time of delivery. Our courier partners have certain limitations on the payable cash amounts during the delivery; that depends on the destination and if your order value has exceeded its due limit.
What is the COD limit?
Modomu reserves the right to determine the COD limit for every customer and/or order, but once COD is introduced, there will be no predefined COD limit initially. The COD limit includes any undelivered, unpaid orders and any new orders being placed.
Are there any hidden charges (Octroi or Sales Tax) when I make a purchase on Modomu?
There are NO hidden charges when you make a purchase on Modomu. The prices listed for all the items are final and all-inclusive. The price you see on the product page is exactly what you pay.
Delivery charges may be extra depending on the total value of the products in your cart and our shipping policies. Please check our shipping policies for the same.
I am being charged a GST amount on my order. What is GST?
Goods and Services Tax ("GST") is a destination-based tax on the consumption of goods and services. GST is levied at all stages, right from the manufacturer up to the retailer who sells the goods for final consumption. Customers are the ultimate bearers of the taxes, and there is no cascading of tax as tax payable at each stage is available for set-off.
How is the GST amount decided?
1) For a product, the discounted prices displayed on the Modomu platform shall be inclusive of all taxes, including GST.
2) GST amount: If applicable, the amount of GST collected from the customer depends on the category, for example
(i) Apparel/Clothing: Max 12%
(ii) Footwear: Max 18%
(iii) Home Furnishing: Max. 28%
(iv) Accessories/Other Categories: Max 28%
If I return/cancel the purchased product, will the GST/VAT amount charged be refunded?
Yes. If you return the product, the applicable GST/VAT amount will also be refunded into the source account selected at the time of return initiation. However, no refunds of GST/VAT shall be made in relation to shipping charges collected from the consumer under Modomu's shipping policy.
What will happen to my money if an order placed fails or is rejected?
If an order is not successful, it can also be due to payment failure, and in these cases, you are not liable for any refund. In scenarios wherein payment is received at our end, and the order is rejected, payment made through wallet or any other mode will be automatically refunded to the same mode. Kindly reach out to Customer Care if the money is not refunded to your mode of payment.

I want to know about the EMI (credit card) payment option.
EMI (Credit Card) is a convenient payment option that you can choose to pay for the order in easy instalments to the credit card issuing bank. The option is available only on credit cards issued by the following banks:
1. HDFC
2. ICICI
3. SBI
4. Axis
5. Amex
6. HSBC
7. Induslnd
8. Kotak
9. RBL
10. Standard Chartered.
- This EMI option is facilitated by the card-issuing bank. The EMI eligibility, payment plan and refund rules are solely at the internal discretion and approval of the bank.
How do I make a payment using the EMI (Credit Card) option?
- Add the desired products to your Modomu shopping bag, proceed to checkout, select a delivery address, and proceed to payment. On the payment page, select EMI (Credit Card) under payment options and follow these simple steps:
- Select the Credit Card issuing bank you wish to pay from
- Select the repayment duration (3, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 months). The interest rate, monthly EMI, and total interest paid will be displayed.
- Enter your Credit Card details
- Click ‘Pay Now’.
- The order will be confirmed and shipped on successful payment.
What are the eligibility criteria to avail of the EMI option?
EMI is available for all products on Modomu. Also, the payment option is available only above a minimum order value, which varies from bank to bank. For a given order value, only the eligible banks will be displayed under the issuing bank list on the EMI payment page.
Why is sum total of EMIs more than the order value?
The issuing bank charges interest per EMI transaction. The interest rates are decided by the bank and are displayed at the time of completing the transaction. There are no processing or shipping fees charged on any EMI transactions.
What happens if the bank rejects the EMI conversion?
The customer needs to pay the full amount of the transaction to the bank, since the EMI facility is at the sole discretion of the issuing bank. Please contact your card-issuing bank.
Why is the transaction amount not converted into EMI in 7 working days?
Conversion of transactions into EMI is at the sole discretion of the card issuing bank and can also be rejected in unfortunate circumstances. In case the paid amount is not converted to EMI within 7 days, then contact your card issuing bank.
What should I do if my payment fails?
Please retry making the payment after ensuring that the information entered is accurate, including all account details, billing addresses and passwords.
If your payment still fails, you can use the Cash on Delivery (COD) payment option, if available on the payment page, to place your order. If your payment is debited from your account after a payment failure, it will be credited back within 5-7 days after we receive a confirmation from the bank.
