The handle is the part you notice first — a twisted rope of clay in a colour that contrasts with the cup, thick enough that three fingers go through comfortably. The body is painted by hand in patchwork blocks of check, stripe and floral, so no two mugs come out the same. A footed base lifts it off the table by a centimetre, which keeps a hot mug from marking wood. 401 to 500 ml, which is a proper morning size.
